Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their original research to the KURAB Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Social Sciences (KJIRSS). Manuscripts submitted to KJIRSS must represent original scholarly work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.

Submissions to KJIRSS must strictly adhere to the following guidelines to ensure an efficient review and publication process.

1. General Scope and Contribution

  • Focus: Manuscripts must address complex issues using an interdisciplinary lens that bridges concepts, methods, or theories from two or more distinct social science disciplines (e.g., law and communication; media and health).
  • Significance: Manuscripts must demonstrate significant empirical or theoretical advancements that genuinely enhance social science knowledge. Simple descriptive research is generally not accepted.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not currently under review by any other journal.

2. Manuscript Type and Methods

KJIRSS welcomes three primary types of manuscripts: empirical research, theoretical frameworks, and methodological innovations.

Empirical Methods: We accept manuscripts utilizing any rigorous empirical approach, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. The chosen method must be clearly justified and robustly executed.

3. Preparation Checklist

To ensure an efficient review process, your submission package must include the following three separate files:

  • Anonymized Manuscript (Blinded): This file must contain the full text, including the abstract, keywords, tables, and references, and statements on funding, conflicts of interest, and data availability, where applicable. This file must not contain author names, affiliations, or any self-identifying references to ensure a fair double-blind peer-review process.
    Download the Manuscript Template
  • Copyright & Publication Agreement: A signed declaration submitted to the Co-Chief Editors confirming that all authors agree to the publication of their work by Kurab Publishing. This statement must certify that the manuscript is an original contribution, has not been published previously, and is not currently being considered by any other journal.
    Download the Copyright Form
  • Title Page (Non-Blinded): This file must include the full title of the manuscript, complete names of all authors, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and the corresponding author clearly identified with an ORCID.

4. Submission Format

All manuscripts submitted to KJIRSS must adhere to the following formatting guidelines:

  • File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) is preferred.
  • Language: All submissions must be in clear, grammatical English.
  • Length: Manuscripts should generally not exceed 8,000 words, including all tables, figures, footnotes, and references.
  • Abstract: A concise abstract of no more than 200 words summarizing the research problem, methodology, key findings, and interdisciplinary contribution must be included.
  • Citation Style: Authors must adhere strictly to the latest edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) style for all in-text citations and references.

Submissions that do not comply with the journal's scope or technical requirements may be desk-rejected without external review.

5. The Submission Workflow

  1. Initial Acknowledgment
You will receive an email confirming receipt of your manuscript within 48–72 hours.
  2. Internal Screening
The Co-Chief Editors will conduct an initial desk review for scope and plagiarism.
  3. Peer Review
If the manuscript passes screening, it will be sent to at least two external reviewers. All submissions undergo a rigorous, double-blind peer-review process. The primary criteria for acceptance are theoretical rigor, empirical soundness, and interdisciplinary impact.
  4. Decision
You will be notified of the editorial decision (Accept, Revision, or Reject) via email, typically within 4–6 weeks.
